Privacy Policy
Effective October 18, 2026. Applies to Rig for Mac and Rig for iPhone.
Rig doesn't collect, sell, or share information about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking in either app. We, the makers of Rig, never receive your code, chats, or settings.
Rig for Mac
- Your projects and chats stay on your Mac. Chat history, settings, and paired devices are stored in Rig's folder in your user Library.
- The AI provider you choose. When you chat, the agent sends your messages and the project content it needs to OpenRouter, using the API key you add. That key is kept in your Mac's keychain. OpenRouter and the model providers it routes to handle that data under their own privacy policies.
- Updates. Rig checks this website for a newer version a few times a day. The request carries the usual network details (such as your IP address) and Rig's version, nothing else.
Rig for iPhone
- It talks only to your Mac. The app connects directly to Rig on your own Mac, over your Tailscale network. Nothing passes through our servers.
- Pairing. The pairing token is stored in the iPhone's keychain, on that device only.
- Camera. Used only to scan the pairing QR code. No photo or video is saved or sent anywhere.
- Demo. Try a Demo runs entirely inside the app with sample data.
Children
Rig is a developer tool and isn't directed at children.
